Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies Forecasts Increased Spending on Remodeling

According to the Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA) released July 19, 2018 by Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS), homeowners are expected to increase spending on remodeling projects. This robust outlook comes despite a low inventory in existing homes that has limited just how much the remodeling market can expand at this time. “Rising home values and increased home equity levels are also encouraging more owners to do larger upgrade and replacement projects.” according to JCHS Managing Director Chris Herbert. The LIRA report indicates that the category should continue to see regular growth, settling in at around 7 percent by early 2019. This recent news from JCHS reinforces the fact that its a GREAT time to get into the home-services category. With homeowners thinking about remodeling projects that include energy efficiency upgrades, and bathroom remodels, it’s a great opportunity for The Glass Guru franchise owners to bring our full-service approach to their respective markets. The Glass Guru is well situated to meet this growing need in the marketplace with our wide array of products and services including glass restoration, repair, and replacement, windows, entry doors, custom shower enclosures, and more.
