Top-Rated Glass Franchise Opens Second Alabama Location
The Glass Guru continues to show strong growth indicators with the recent addition of the company’s second franchise location in the state of Alabama as Mr. Ted Green was welcomed as the company’s newest franchisee. Green completed his initial franchise owner training at The Glass Guru’s North American headquarters in Roseville, CA on December 4th, 2020. Similar to most The Glass Guru franchise owners, Green comes to the home services franchise with no experience in the trades. Ted holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Biology. He spent over 20+ years leading various businesses involved in providing contract research services for the pharmaceutical industry in the drug and therapeutic development process. Ted had been looking for a business of his own for some time… and he was looking for a change. He recalls that he was looking for something completely different than what he’d been doing his entire career:
I always wanted to run my own business. I wanted to do something completely different than contact research work. The Glass Guru presented itself as an opportunity to do that while fulfilling what I could see as a strong need in the community. Immediately I could sense the level of professionalism, honesty, and commitment from the entire team at headquarters. That gave me the confidence in the brand to move forward.” Ted Green | Franchise Owner – The Glass Guru of East Birmingham, AL
Green’s independently-owned franchise location joins The Glass Guru of Mobile, AL as the other Alabama-based location for the franchise company. The Mobile, AL location is a long-standing franchise, in business since 2011, with impressive growth stats from the past several years. The Glass Guru’s leadership team sees the same potential in the Birmingham, AL market. “Ted’s the exact kind of candidate we’re looking for here at The Glass Guru… He has the energy, drive and business acumen to make this location a success. Our model specializes in taking qualified businesspeople and we help them learn the ropes in the glass trade” says Dan Frey, The Glass Guru’s President & Founder. “What I liked the most about the training process was getting to be hands-on with the team to experience firsthand what I had so far only been exposed to via the online work.” states Green. “The Initial Franchise Training at the Glass Guru headquarters was well organized, and presented information in a way that was easy to understand, and adequately prepared me for the launch of my franchise.” Green continues. When asked what excited him the most about business ownership, Ted Green replies “building something from the ground up and being able to provide a service to the community that is sorely needed.” When Green looks forward to the years to come, he also sees big things for his franchise. “Within 2 years, I see the business being the go-to place for everyone’s glass needs in the greater Birmingham area. By that point we will have the teams in place where my role will be to provide the leadership that all businesses need while continually working to develop and grow the brand in Alabama.” The opening of yet another franchise location during this pandemic-ridden year is a great indicator for things to come at The Glass Guru. While the franchise organization did see a slowdown in new units opening, the candidates that did come aboard are all strong. That coupled with a string of record revenues make this awkward and uncertain 2020 a positive year indeed for The Glass Guru.
