Hello neighbors! I’m Tom Rowland, owner of The Glass Guru of Gurnee since 2012.  I grew up in the Libertyville, IL area, went to Libertyville High School, and then college at ​​Trinity International University in Bannock, IL where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Before transferring to Trinity International, I studied civil engineering at Purdue. While in college, I took a break and started The Glass Guru and graduated in 2016 with my degree while running our store. Before starting The Glass Guru, I did work for myself as a handyman, mobile detailer, and doing odd jobs throughout college. 

I started The Glass Guru because I enjoy helping others and wanted to  have a positive impact on my community.  What attracted me to The Glass Guru was the guru mindset and the support I receive from the Franchise Headquarters. I am extremely proud of the positive impact we have left on our customers, employees, and community.  What I like most about this business is I have an opportunity to help others in a construction-related field. 

Outside of work, I enjoy mountain biking, camping, and enjoying time with family.  My wife, Carly,  and I have a toddler named Colton and a baby boy due October 2022, and a Goldendoodle named Spice. On weekends you might find us on a bike trail, enjoying quality time with the family or church. 

It’s a great honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve you and we hope to be the local glass shop you can trust and rely on for many years to come.
